KRUMP STUDIOS THEATRE & PERFORMANCES

The Krump Dance Studios began producing for the stage in 2013 with Grease: The Naija Mix — a bold Nigerian adaptation of the iconic movie Grease. The production captured public attention for its creative reimagining of familiar scenes through a vibrant Nigerian lens, blending theatre, dance, music, and culture in a fresh and relatable way.

Following the success of Grease: The Naija Mix, Krump Studios went on to create original productions such as Expressions of the Soul, Omo Naija (2016, Tamerri Festival Abuja), Mute (2021), and Abuja The Musical — a landmark theatre production that celebrated and told authentic stories inspired by the city of Abuja and its people.

After its successful runs in 2017 and 2019, Abuja The Musical was featured at the Abuja Theatre Festival and Abuja Art Week, further establishing Krump Studios as a leading force in contemporary performance and storytelling in Nigeria.

Beyond public theatre productions, Krump Studios has also created and performed original curated works for corporate and institutional audiences, including collaborations with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the British Council (Grease Naija Mix Adaptation 2019), South African Tourism, Botswana High Commission, Women’s International Film Festival Nigeria, the Abuja Literary Society Festival, and Institut Français de Nigeria.

Through its productions, Krump Studios continues to use movement, contemporary storytelling, and performance as powerful tools for cultural expression, engagement, and social impact.
